125th Anniversary Projects

HONOR CHRIS LeDOUX AT THE 125th CELEBRATION

A Chris LeDoux bronze statue will be added to the sculpture collection on Frontier Park. This sculpture is by D. Michael Thomas from Buffalo, Wyoming and memorializes the tie of Chris LeDoux to the rodeo and music worlds and his place in Cheyenne Frontier Days™ history.

A World Champion bareback rider in 1976, this accomplished Wyoming musician blended his love of rodeo and writing into a music career that celebrated the Western way of life. A veteran of both the rodeo arena by day and the main stage at night, Chris LeDoux was a beloved part of our event.

We are proud to honor Chris LeDoux and his performances during our event with the dedication of this bronze on July 23, 2021.

REFURBISH BARN 15 TO HOUSE CARRIAGE COLLECTION

Cheyenne Frontier Days™ maintains a world-class carriage collection that celebrates the spirit and history of the West. These rolling pieces of our past are displayed year-round in the Cheyenne Frontier Days™ Old West Museum, until they are taken out and used in each of the four Grand Parades in July.

Each carriage, wagon or vehicle has been painstakingly restored, sometimes only from pieces or an existing frame.

These artifacts will now be stored permanently in the refurbished Barn 15, which will provide a protected environment so that this collection can be enjoyed by future generations seeking to learn more about transportation in the old West.
